The City of Taunton Board of Health seeks to protect public health, safety, and the environment within its jurisdiction by holding high standards in effectively implementing the following:
enforcing federal, state, and local laws and regulations that protect health and ensure safety
identifying and investigating health problems and hazards in the community
informing and educating the citizens of Taunton about health issues
mobilizing community departments and organizations and taking action to solve problems effectively and as a team
developing policies, ordinances, regulations, and plans that support individual and community health efforts
directing people in need of personal health services and assuring the provision of health care when otherwise unavailable
insuring a competent and well-trained public health work force
assessing the efficiency, accessibility and quality of health services
researching new technologies and innovative solutions for health and environmental issues
